The origin of the word "cemetery" can be traced back to the Greek term "κοιμητήριον," meaning "sleeping place." It was initially used to describe the burial grounds found in the Roman catacombs. On the other hand, the term "graveyard" is often used interchangeably with "cemetery," but it specifically refers to a burial ground located within or adjacent to a churchyard. The key distinction lies in the connection to churches: a graveyard is associated with a church, while a cemetery is not.

No, it is not necessary for families to travel to the crematorium. Many families choose to go for a meal or refreshments instead, while our funeral team takes care of bringing the deceased to the crematorium. We understand that this can be a more convenient option, especially if the crematorium is located at a long distance.
Ashes are returned to the family in the normal fashion within 1 week of cremation.
Note: if using the simple/direct cremation service the family do not travel to the crematorium.
